Roofing: Here and There
Here is a Picture of A Friend's latest project at his home outside of Prague; expanding a work shed and putting a new roof on it.
Note the roofing material.
This is the normal/typical type of roofing material used in Central Bohemia and throughout the Czech Republic: Real Pottery Tile ..and red(ish).
In the US, most roofs consist of a black "tar paper" covering over the plywood roof, which is then covered in black Asphalt shingles, which are overlapped and nailed into the plywood using a 1.5" inch roofing nail.
Not exactly sure how these Pottery Tiles are attached; Most likely some sort of nail, but much larger I am sure.
