WWII air bomb evacuates people in Plzeň

Plzen, West Bohemia, July 24 (CTK) - The unearthing of a World War Two aerial bomb during the reconstruction of a tram line in Plzen compelled the evacuation of people within a 500-metre range for six hours Sunday, regional police Martina Korandova told CTK.

"A bomb-disposal expert put the old bomb with 40 centimetres in diameter on a special vehicle and took it away to be defused," Korandova said.

The police dealt with a similar case in Liberec, north Bohemia, on (last) Tuesday evening.
