Turned 60 today.....

Ach Jo....

but it was nice to be home and to celebrate this day with my kids and family; the first time in three years. It was Just plain Nice. Thank you.

This first time in 3 years! Amazing.

so nice to share this evening with my kids.

Moje Narozeniny dneska.....

Well.. It has finally happened. Today I am entered the decade of .... well numbers that begin with "6".

Today is my 60th Birthday. Fakt, jo! Wow, when you are younger you never think about entering into your 6th decade.
Well, today I am. Today I did. wow...those words are... well... 60!

I feel fortunate to have great family, two wonderful children, many friends here and abroad, a great job and have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the Czech Republic many times, and to live there for almost three years. So the two digits I celebrate today... well, as my daughter says, are only that, numbers.

It is what you are on the inside and how you feel that is most important.

so Happy Birthday to ME>>.. Cau...

Yesterday....Triumph Sports Car Club Ralley

Yesterday, my brother invited me to go along with him and The Rochester Area Triumph Sports Car Club for a drive through the countryside ending with a Brunch about 50 miles south of Rochester on Conesus Lake(bottom photo). His TR6 is the first Red Car taking most of the 2nd and 4th photo.

The day started sunny and bright as we drove through a colorful Autumn landscape. About an hour into the morning drive, it got gloomy with scattered rain showers. None-the-less, a fine time.

Scarecrow

A Scarecrow is, essentially, a decoy, though traditionally, a human figure (or mannequin) dressed in old clothes, stuffed with straw or hay and placed in fields by farmers to discourage birds such as crows or sparrows from disturbing and feeding on recently cast seed and growing crops.

Fairport has had a tradition of merchants putting Scarecrows outside their business during the month of October and this has turned into a festival of sorts...where town residents can vote for the "best" Scarecrow in the Village.

Here are some of them...

Life Begins Anew

It is Fall here in Fairport. The leaves on the Trees are just starting to change. In Prague, everything I saw was still full Green and no hint of Autumn colors anywhere.

THIS BLOG: I will continue this blog through CHristmas and New Years Day I think. I am not sure the frequency of my posts going forward however. I know I have several good friends in Prague and in the Czech Republic who wish me to post... so stay tuned.

I want to show you the colors of FALL in upstate New York, the Finger Lakes Region and in Fairport. I will try to take my camera in order to show you what is going on in my LIfe over the next few months as well and hope you might be interested in that..

So on we go for only October, November and December 2011. Then Poof, I believe this Blog will end..

I mean... How many pictures of deer and trees and BIG things can you stand.. ;-))

Have Returned Home

After a very long day on Wednesday, the 28th, I returned from a City I love after having a wonderful time with so many of my good friends.

The Delta flight from Prague to JFk was good, and nice shortened by someone. Usually it takes 9 plus hours but on Wednesday, It took only Eight! That was excellent...

But, then at JFK, I thought I could rebook on an earlier flight upon my arrival, but it took so long going through Customs and luggage retrieval that it was impossible to get home earlier. So I weighted 6 hours for my 9pm flight, only to have it pushed back and back. Finally the Flight boarded at 10:30. Luckily the Que on the taxiways was short and the flight took only 47 minutes to Rochester.

It is exhausting to return to the states. I was up in excess of 28 hours by the time I stepped into my apartment. Very long day and very tiring.

Slept 5 hours Wednesday and was up and into work by 7:30 to start the day. So Life begins anew here.
